Why the New Hate for Electric Cars?

A valid concern? Or planted opposition?

It seems every day that I see another person ranting about electric cars. I see Facebook posts of electric cars plugged into sockets and the sockets are plugged into coal-burning electrical plants. Or people mocking electric cars running out of energy and having to be helped by a gasoline-burning vehicle. Or worse, people being proud that they keyed or damaged Teslas and other EV brands.

What is this all about? Have people forgot that our oil is shipped from overseas causing huge environmental oil spills? Or the big oil rigs in the oceans? Or fracking? Or the environmental effects of the emissions of millions of gas-burning vehicles running every day?

Personally, I’ve been looking into buying an electric car. I love the idea of no exhaust from my car polluting the environment. I love the idea of charging my car at home and not being at the whim of the oil tycoons who just choose to double the price of gas (as they have right now) making driving a car ridiculously expensive.

A good friend of mine has had a Tesla for a long time. I have gotten to drive it hundreds of times and often on long trips going over 250 miles on a single charge. It is so beautifully silent. Acceleration is almost instant since it is just a computer. It is just lovely…
